Alcohol: Yes
Glass: Shot glass
Taste: sweet
4 oz of Absinthe
4 oz of Tequila
2 oz of Grenadine
1. Begin by chilling a shot glass in the freezer for a few minutes to provide the best experience for the Moranguito cocktail.
2. Once the shot glass is chilled, carefully pour the Absinthe into it, filling approximately one-third of the glass.
3. Slowly layer the Tequila on top of the Absinthe by pouring it gently over the back of a spoon. This will create a distinct separation between the two spirits. The glass should now be about two-thirds full.
4. Finally, gently layer the Grenadine on top of the Tequila using the same method as before, until the shot glass is full.
5. Garnish the Moranguito with a small strawberry or cherry on a cocktail pick, resting it on the rim of the shot glass.
- To make the layering process easier, you can use a bar spoon or a regular teaspoon, placed upside down on the rim of the glass, with the tip just touching the liquid. Pour the next ingredient slowly over the spoon, and it will gradually spread over the surface, creating a distinct layer.
- For a less potent drink, you can adjust the ratio of Absinthe and Tequila, using less of each and adding more Grenadine for a sweeter taste.
- You can give the cocktail a light stir before taking the shot if you prefer the flavors to be mixed. However, this will reduce the visual appeal of the distinct layers.
