Glass: Cocktail glass
Taste: sour, smoky
2 1/2 oz of Port
1/2 tsp of Brandy
1. Fill a mixing glass with ice.
2. Pour in the Port wine.
3. Add a splash of Brandy to the mix.
4. Using a long spoon or a cocktail stirrer, gently stir the ingredients together until well combined and chilled.
5. Prepare a cocktail glass by chilling it in the freezer for a few minutes or filling it with ice and letting it sit for a minute before dumping out the ice.
6. Hold a strainer over the chilled cocktail glass and carefully pour the stirred Port and Brandy mixture through the strainer into the glass.
7. Garnish the cocktail with a twist of citrus peel or a fresh berry, if desired.
8. Serve the cocktail immediately and enjoy!
- To make the cocktail sweeter, use a ruby Port wine instead of a tawny Port wine.
- To make the cocktail smoother, use an aged Brandy for added depth of flavor.
- For an extra touch, flame the citrus peel garnish over the cocktail before adding it. This enhances the aroma and adds a nice visual effect.
